About Pavino
Medicine, practised a little earlier.
Pavino is a physician-led preventive practice in New York. We exist to find the quiet signals years before they turn into diagnoses — and to give people the time to act on them.

Our story
We built the practice we wanted for our own families.
After ten years in hospital medicine, Dr. Lena Moreau kept meeting the same patients too late: heart attacks that had been visible in blood work for a decade, diabetes that had been brewing since their thirties.
In 2019 she opened a two-room practice on Mercer Street with one rule — every first visit lasts an hour. Testing came next, then a team of physicians who share the same patience.
Today Pavino cares for more than 6,000 members across two clinics. The rule hasn’t changed.
What we believe
Four principles behind every visit.
They shape how long appointments last, which tests we order and how we talk about results.
01
Time over throughput
First visits last sixty minutes and follow-ups are never squeezed. Listening is clinical work.
02
Measure what matters
We test for markers that change decisions — not to fill a dashboard.
03
Plain language
Every result is explained in words you could repeat to your family at dinner.
04
Continuity
One named physician who knows your history, year after year.
Milestones
Seven years, one rule.
Growing slowly on purpose, so the hour never shrinks.
Pavino opens on Mercer Street with two exam rooms and a 60-minute first visit.
The baseline panel grows to 94 biomarkers; sleep medicine joins the team.
The Heart & Metabolic program launches with continuous glucose monitoring.
We publish our first annual outcomes report. 96% of members renew.
A second clinic opens in Brooklyn Heights.
Clinicians
The physicians who will know you by name.
Board-certified, unhurried and in it for the long run — most of our doctors have been with Pavino since their first year.

Founder · Internal Medicine
Dr. Lena Moreau
Lena trained in internal medicine in Lyon and Boston and spent a decade in hospital care before founding Pavino to practise medicine earlier, slower and with better data.

Cardiology
Dr. Daniel Mensah
Daniel is a board-certified cardiologist focused on lipid disorders and early vascular disease. He believes most heart attacks are visible years ahead — if someone looks.

Endocrinology
Dr. Ingrid Halvorsen
Ingrid leads our metabolic and hormone programs, from insulin resistance to thyroid and perimenopause care, with a calm, evidence-first approach.

Sleep Medicine
Dr. Mateo Ruiz
Mateo is a sleep physician who treats insomnia and sleep apnea without defaulting to pills, using home studies and structured behavioural therapy.
Meet your physician before you decide.
A first consultation is a full hour. If Pavino isn’t right for you, you leave with a clear summary anyway.
